Global intergenerational week: Challenge day 5 - Let’s Break Down Age Barriers

Challenge day 5 (Sunday, April 28th): Let's Break Down Age Barriers

As Global Intergenerational Week continues, we're turning our attention to breaking down age barriers and fostering greater understanding and appreciation between generations. At The Together Project, we believe that by challenging stereotypes and embracing diversity, we can build stronger, more inclusive communities.

Challenge for Day 5: Break a Stereotype

Today's challenge is all about breaking stereotypes and challenging age-related assumptions. Take a moment to reflect on any preconceived notions you may have about people from different age groups. Then, actively seek out opportunities to challenge these stereotypes by engaging in meaningful conversations, learning from one another, and celebrating the unique strengths and perspectives of each generation.

Share your experiences and insights on social media using the hashtag #BreakAgeBarriers and tag @TheTogetherProject to join the conversation. Let's work together to create a world where age is celebrated, not restricted by stereotypes.

Are you ageist?

One way to challenge any age-related assumptions is to take the Centre for Ageing Better’s ‘Are you ageist’ quiz. Their positive ageing campaign ‘Age without limits’ aims to change the way we all think about ageing and support a growing movement of people and organisations working to make society more age-inclusive.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's challenge as we continue our journey of solidarity and connection across generations.
