Bringing even more joy to older people’s lives: Songs & Smiles launches on My Life TV

At The Together Project, we know how special Songs & Smiles sessions are for children, their grownups, and residents of care settings. The joy of seeing babies, toddlers, and older people come together through music is hard to beat! Now, thanks to our new partnership with the charity My Life Films, we’re bringing this magic to even more people, allowing older adults to experience Songs & Smiles through My Life TV.

Who is My Life Films, and what is My Life TV?

My Life Films is an award-winning charity with a fantastic mission: to support people living with dementia through film and TV. Their unique streaming platform, My Life TV, is filled with programming specifically chosen to make people feel comforted, connected, and engaged. How Songs & Smiles brings happiness to My Life TV

For anyone who has joined Songs & Smiles, you’ve seen the incredible effect of music, smiles, and laughter on everyone in the room. We’re delighted to bring that experience to My Life TV, allowing older adults to watch and join in with our Songs & Smiles sessions even if they can’t be there in person. Filmed at George Mason Lodge in Waltham Forest, these sessions show the same singing, smiling, and connection that you and your children enjoy each week!

Rachel Addley, Executive Director at My Life Films, shares her thoughts:

“With wonderful uplifting and familiar singalongs, Songs & Smiles is fantastic programming for people living with dementia. It uses the power of music, connection, and the playful energy of children to spark recognition, communication, and joy.”

Why this matters

Our partnership with My Life Films means that the happiness Songs & Smiles brings can now reach even more older adults, helping them feel connected to younger generations. For those who live with dementia, being able to join in with familiar songs and see the playful energy of children can brighten their day and even help reduce feelings of isolation. Now, with Songs & Smiles on My Life TV, they can experience the same uplifting magic right from their screen.
