Local SEO & Accessibility Volunteer

Help families find joyful intergenerational sessions near them

At The Together Project, we bring little ones, their grownups and older people together through music, creativity and shared intergenerational experiences. Our award-winning Songs & Smiles sessions take place in care homes across the UK, filling rooms with bubbles, songs, smiles and genuine human connection.

But, to attend, families need to be able to find us first!

We’re looking for a skills-based volunteer to help strengthen our online visibility at a local and regional level, so that when parents search for baby and toddler groups near them, Songs & Smiles shows up.Add some photos in this text.

You won’t be expected to do everything, we’ll agree priorities together.

Who this role is for

Experience with Squarespace is helpful but not essential.

This opportunity would suit someone who:

  • Has experience in SEO, digital marketing, UX or content structure

  • Enjoys making information clearer, more accessible and easier to find

  • Understands how people search locally

  • Likes creating solutions that work for small, busy charities

You don’t need to be an SEO specialist. Practical experience and a thoughtful approach are far more important.

Time commitment

  • Flexible and manageable

  • Around 2–4 hours per week for a fixed period (to be agreed together)

  • Fully remote, or we’re always in the office on a Tuesday if you fancy some company?

  • Supported by our friendly communications team

What you’ll gain

  • A clearly defined project with visible, real-world impact

  • Experience you can confidently add to your CV or LinkedIn profile

  • The chance to use your skills in a genuinely people-focused way

  • References and LinkedIn recommendations, if helpful

  • The feel-good factor of helping people connect across generations

Why this matters

One improved search result can lead to:

  • A child building confidence through music

  • A new parent finding community

  • An older person feeling valued and connected

A small change online can create a big moment of connection offline.
