Who We Are

We are proud to be a charity (1192175) focused on connecting people from different generations and across different walks of life. 

We run several programs to boost wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and foster stronger, happier communities, with a current focus on children, their parents/carers, and older people in care homes and independent living schemes. They are:

The Role

We’re looking for a Community Support Volunteer to start in September 2024 to help connect hundreds of children and older adults nationwide. This is a unique opportunity to use your skills for good and have a truly positive impact on the lives of people across the country. 

Below is a detailed list of some of the things you might expect to do while you are with us:

Responsibilities

  • Creating Crafting Connections packs filled with handmade artwork and crafting goodies.

  • Opening the post, carrying out safeguarding checks, and photographing artwork.

  • Logging what has been received on a spreadsheet and following up with those who haven’t submitted.

  • Supporting care settings involved in the programmes above by phone and email.

  • Conducting general research into Crafting Connections themes/creating Pinterest boards.

  • Supporting research into materials.

  • Basic office administration including data entry and filing.

  • Assisting in keeping our programmes running smoothly.

  • Help gather and organise essential information for reports, presentations, and evaluations.

  • As a small team, we all pitch in and support each other on various tasks and requests as needed. Your willingness to help out wherever needed will be greatly appreciated.

  • Some travel within London to attend Songs & Smiles sessions may be required (travel will be reimbursed).

We’re looking for individuals who embody these five attributes:

  3. Accuracy/Attention to detail - Essential for creating project packs.

  4. Collaborative and a good communicator - Responds to emails, speaks on the phone with warmth and professionalism, and enjoys working with other team members.

  5. Conscientious and enthusiastic - Excited about the opportunity to change lives for the better.

Time Commitment & Location

We’re looking for someone who can come to our lovely Walthamstow office (10 mins walk from Blackhorse Road tube) 1 day a week.
