Joy Spreader
Love Songs & Smiles? Know a few parents, playgroups or community spaces nearby? This role is all about sharing the joy locally so more families and older people living in care homes can experience the magic of our sessions.
As a Joy Spreader, you’ll help spread the word in ways that feel natural to you, whether that’s chatting to other parents, sharing a post online, or popping up a poster while you’re out and about. Small actions, big impact and plenty of joy along the way.
This role is perfect for:
Parents/guardians who love the sessions and want to help them grow
Students looking for a meaningful volunteering experience
Community-minded people who wish to make a difference
A workplace that wants to support a national charity at a local level
What you’ll be doing
You can choose the tasks that suit you best. They might include:
Sharing information in local Facebook groups, responding to posts from local parents asking for things to do, mentioning us on WhatsApp chats, or online forums
Putting up posters or handing out flyers in community spaces (e.g. cafés, libraries, playgroups)
Chatting to other parents or groups about the sessions
Keeping an eye out for local events or networks where we could promote Songs & Smiles
Being the friendly face of The Together Project in your community
What you’ll gain
Experience in community outreach and promotion
A role that’s flexible around your life
The joy of helping to bring people of different generations together
The chance to develop confidence, communication and creativity
Something brilliant to put on your CV!
We’re looking for people who are:
Friendly and reliable
Passionate about community and connection
Confident talking to people online or in person
Good knowledge of your local area and parent networks, or willingness to find out
Aligned with our values of joy, togetherness, trust and optimism
No formal experience needed – we’ll support you all the way.
