At The Together Project, our volunteers do something beautifully simple: they help people of different generations connect. Through music, creativity and human connection, they create moments of joy that ripple far beyond a single Songs & Smiles session or Crafting Connections pack.
This year, we’re inviting more people to join the Joy Squad - a growing community of volunteers who believe that connection matters.
Whether you’ve got an hour to spare, a skill to share, or a strategic brain that loves helping good things grow, there’s a place for you here.
Group Welcomers
The friendly faces who help Songs & Smiles sessions feel calm, inclusive and welcoming.
If you’re warm, organised and enjoy helping parents, little ones and older people feel at ease, this role makes a huge difference, often before the first song even begins.
Joy Spreaders
Our Joy Spreaders help share the magic of what we do.
From chatting with families to taking photos, helping with outreach, or spreading the word locally, this role is perfect for people who love connecting with others and amplifying good things.
Community Support Volunteers
These volunteers support the behind-the-scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly.
You might help with admin, coordination, creative projects or occasional practical tasks - a brilliant option if you’d like to volunteer flexibly and make an impact in quieter but vital ways.
Trustees (Strategic Volunteers)
Trustees are volunteers too, just in a different way.
They help guide the future of The Together Project, offering perspective, curiosity and care as we grow. You don’t need previous trustee experience, just a belief in our mission and a willingness to learn.
This is a great option if you’re interested in strategic volunteering and supporting a charity at Board level.
