What is Gift Aid — and why it matters
When you donate to The Together Project, you’re helping bring joy and human connection across the generations, from Songs & Smiles sessions filled with music and laughter to Crafting Connections art exchanges that spark friendship and creativity.
But did you know your gift could go even further without costing you a penny more?

What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a simple government scheme that lets charities claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you. So if you donate £5, The Together Project receives £6.25!
All you need to do is tick the Gift Aid box when you book your Songs & Smiles session on Pebble and confirm that you’re a UK taxpayer (this includes tax paid on income, savings, pensions or capital gains).

Why it makes a difference
According to the UK Giving Report 2025, almost 1 in 4 young donors say they don’t understand how Gift Aid works, even though 77% of people believe charities rely on it.
They’re right, that extra 25% adds up to millions of pounds across the UK each year, helping charities like ours plan ahead and reach more people.
For The Together Project, Gift Aid helps fund:
Intergenerational music sessions that lift the mood of care home residents, help parents feel part of their community and develop confidence and empathy in little ones.
Crafting packs that connect children and older adults in care homes across the UK, bringing joy and connection to those who need it most.
Training and support for our Group Leaders and volunteers.
Behind-the-scenes essentials that keep our joyful work running smoothly.

Will it affect my tax?
Not at all. It simply allows us to reclaim the tax you’ve already paid on your donation.
If you pay less Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations, it’s your responsibility to pay the difference (but for most people, it won’t affect your tax at all).

How to add Gift Aid
Next time you book a Songs & Smiles session on Pebble, or sign up to Crafting Connections, just tick the Gift Aid box when prompted.
That one small tick makes a big difference, helping us bring even more songs, smiles and connection to care homes and communities.
