Scaling new heights for intergenerational joy

We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing Programme Coordinator, Sarah Jordan, who’s about to take on one of the UK’s toughest fundraising challenges, the National Three Peaks Challenge.

In just 24 hours, Sarah will be climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales — Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. That’s a combined ascent of over 3,000 metres, all in a single day! It’s a gruelling test of stamina, endurance, and determination, and Sarah is tackling it with one big motivation in mind: raising money to support the work of The Together Project.

Sarah helps to run the projects that bring joy, friendship and connection between generations. From babies and toddlers singing alongside care home residents at Songs & Smiles, to children and older people sharing creativity through Crafting Connections, she’s seen firsthand the huge difference these moments of togetherness make.

Songs & Smiles connecting generations and spreading joy!

Here’s how Sarah puts it:

“I’ve witnessed how our projects bring joy, friendship and connection between different generations. Supporting The Together Project through this trek is my way of helping us continue that impact in more communities.”

And she’s not taking this challenge lightly. Over the summer, Sarah has been training hard along the Cornish coast, clocking up miles across rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and steep coastal paths. Her commitment and determination have been as inspiring as the breathtaking views, proving that she’s ready to take on whatever the Three Peaks throw at her.

Sarah set herself a target of £950 and has already raised an incredible £870. Now she’s on the final push to reach, and hopefully surpass, her goal.

Her advice for anyone thinking of taking on a challenge?

“Don’t be embarrassed to ask for support! We have a phrase in our office: ‘shy bairns get nowt’ and I’ve been blown away by the generosity of people I didn’t expect to sponsor me.”

This is more than just a personal test; it’s about showing the power of community, kindness and connection. And you can be part of it.

Sponsor Sarah today and help us spread more smiles across the generations.

Together, we can make sure that every step Sarah takes helps build a world where no one feels lonely, and joy is shared across the ages.
